Blessing of the Backpacks Set for Sept. 20

Primrose Lutheran Church near Belleville will hold a Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday, Sept. 20, inviting students of all ages to bring their backpacks to the 8:30 a.m. service for a prayer and blessing for the 2026-27 school year.

Blessing of the Backpacks Set for Sept. 20

Primrose Lutheran Church will hold its Blessing of the Backpacks during its 8:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Sept. 20, at 8770 Ridge Drive, Belleville.

Students of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks with them to the service. During the event, participants will be invited to come forward with their backpacks for a prayer and blessing as they begin the 2026-27 school year.

The back-to-school event is open to both younger and older students. The church is using Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine,” as a theme for the blessing.
