Halloween will take over downtown New Glarus again Saturday, Oct. 17, when the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce brings back Boos & Brews, its annual Halloween-themed pub crawl. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.

Registration will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Chamber Depot, 418 Railroad St. The registration fee includes four drink tickets for beer and rail drinks, professional photography and a chance to win prizes. The first 200 tickets sold online also include a free Boos & Brews sparkly skull mug.

Costumes are strongly encouraged, and dressing up has become a central part of the event since the Chamber replaced its former Tipsy Turkey Pub Crawl with the Halloween version in 2022.

“We had been doing a Tipsy Turkey Pub Crawl for years the weekend before Thanksgiving,” Chamber Director Annie O’Connor said. “But with deer hunting season and the holidays, attendance started to drop. Since Halloween is the best holiday of all time, we thought it would be fun to change Tipsy Turkey into something a little more exciting in hopes of drawing people.”
