Dain Walter Leaves Bears Camp Still Chasing NFL Dream

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Former New Glarus Glarner Knights standout Dain Walter completed Chicago Bears rookie minicamp Saturday still searching for his first NFL contract, but without any indication yet that the Bears have closed the door on adding him.

Walter, a former University of Wisconsin-La Crosse All-American offensive lineman, participated in the Bears’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis after previously attending rookie minicamp with the Green Bay Packers.

The Bears assigned Walter jersey No. 78 during camp, the same number once worn in Chicago by former University of Wisconsin offensive lineman Aaron Gibson more than two decades ago.
