Dain Walter Lands Rookie Minicamp Shot with Packers & Bears
After going undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, New Glarus native Dain Walter quickly landed a rookie minicamp opportunity with the Green Bay Packers & Chicago Bears.
Former New Glarus football standout Dain Walter did not have to wait long for his NFL opportunity.
Minutes after the 2026 NFL Draft ended Saturday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reported that Walter will attend rookie minicamp with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. Walter later reposted it. The opportunity gives the UW-La Crosse left tackle a chance to compete in front of an NFL coaching staff and begin the next step in his football career.
Once the news broke, New Glarus 360 reached out to Walter for comment and learned he also has an opportunity to try out with the Green Bay Packers at its minicamp. He said he was excited for the journey ahead.
