Dark Holler Screen Printing Builds Local Brand in New Glarus
The father-and-son New Glarus business is focusing on quality shirts, hoodies, local service and custom screen printing for businesses, bands and organizations.
Dark Holler Screen Printing Company is a new father-and-son business in New Glarus built around a simple idea: quality custom clothing, done locally, with personal service.
Co-owners Mark Hawley and his son, Madison Hawley, began building the business in October and started printing in January. The company specializes in screen-printed T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, with plans to grow carefully as the customer base expands.
The business is small by design right now, but the equipment is serious. Hawley said Dark Holler uses manual screen printing on a six-color press, not digital transfers or heat transfers for its work.
“Everything we do is manual screen printing,” Hawley said.
The company focuses on custom and contract screen printing for bands, artists, businesses, events and limited runs. It offers one- to six-color printing, plastisol inks, front, back and sleeve placement options, artwork preparation and garment sourcing.
