Emma Hendrickson Brings New Glarus Roots to Summer Internship
New Glarus native and 2024 graduate Emma Hendrickson is spending the summer documenting Wisconsin's dairy industry for the Wisconsin Holstein Association while pursuing a degree in Agricultural Communications more than 1,000 miles away at Texas Tech University.
For Emma Hendrickson, a summer internship with the Wisconsin Holstein Association is more than a job. It is a chance to stay connected to the dairy industry and agricultural community that helped shape her growing up in New Glarus.
The 2024 graduate is currently studying Agricultural Communications at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where she recently completed her second year. This summer, she is serving as the Wisconsin Holstein Association's Show Social Media Intern, traveling to district dairy shows across the state and sharing the action with exhibitors and followers online.
Hendrickson said agriculture has always been a central part of her life.
"Growing up in New Glarus, agriculture was always a big part of my life," she said. "I was heavily involved in showing dairy cattle through 4-H, FFA and Junior Holsteins, which helped me develop a passion for the industry and the people in it."
That passion ultimately led her to Texas Tech, a university known for its agricultural programs and opportunities within the industry.
