New Four-Way Stop Coming Next Week to Highway 81 and County N
Green County Highway Commissioner Chris Narveson says the state will install a temporary four-way stop at Highway 81 and County Highway N, adding flashing warning structures and rumble strips as Highway 69 detour traffic continues.
MONROE, Wis. — A temporary four-way stop will be installed at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 81 and County Highway N following increased traffic and safety concerns connected to the Highway 69 detour.
The new traffic controls are expected to be in place by Thursday, July 30, according to Green County Highway Commissioner Chris Narveson. The intersection currently requires drivers on County N to stop, while traffic on Highway 81 has the right of way.
“I know there have been many complaints about the intersection at Highway 81 and County Road N,” Narveson said. “I wanted to let you know that I was able to get the state to install a temporary four-way stop there.”
Narveson said crews will begin preparing the intersection Monday. Stop signs should be installed by Thursday, although some of the larger warning structures may be added later.
