Full Moon Hike Planned at New Glarus Woods State Park
Friends of New Glarus Woods will lead an evening hike June 27 to view the summer’s first full moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, from trails within the state park.
Residents and visitors looking for things to do in New Glarus next weekend will have an opportunity to experience the first full moon of summer during a guided hike at New Glarus Woods State Park.
The Friends of New Glarus Woods will host a Full Moon Hike on Saturday, June 27, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the park's day-use area. Participants will hike through a mix of woods and savannah habitat while watching the Strawberry Moon rise over the eastern horizon.
The guided outing will follow a portion of the Havenwood Nature Trail and cover approximately one mile round trip. Organizers describe the route as a wide trail featuring moderate uphill and downhill terrain.
