MONTICELLO, Wis. — Green County residents will have a six-hour opportunity Wednesday, Aug. 19, to safely dispose of unwanted household and agricultural hazardous chemicals through the county’s annual Clean Sweep program.

The one-day collection will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Monticello Recycling Center, 406 N. Main St. The program is available to Green County residents, and proof of residency will be required.

Farmers may bring up to 100 pounds of qualifying agricultural products at no charge, while homeowners may dispose of up to 100 pounds of household products for free. Participants do not need to register in advance but will be required to sign in when they arrive.

All containers and materials should be properly identified. A testing fee may be charged for unknown chemicals when the amount exceeds 5 gallons or 50 pounds.
