BRODHEAD, Wis. — Green County residents can drop off eligible electronic waste for free Monday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at the Green County Landfill, W2002 County Highway SS. The event gives households a chance to dispose of qualifying electronics without paying the landfill’s normal electronic-waste charge.

No preregistration is required. The free collection is limited to Green County residents and is not open to businesses.

Electronic waste is accepted at the landfill throughout the year, but Green County’s 2026 disposal rates list electronic waste at 30 cents per pound, making the October event a temporary no-cost option for residents. The county’s landfill website also provides information about which electronics can be recycled.

Wisconsin’s E-Cycle Wisconsin program covers many common household electronics, including televisions, computers, tablets, monitors, desktop printers, cellphones, computer accessories, DVD players, VCRs, DVRs, fax machines, e-readers and video game consoles. Residents should check Green County’s eligible-device information before bringing items to the landfill.
