Data Center Debate Reaches Green County
County officials are considering a temporary moratorium on data centers while they study how the fast-growing facilities should be defined, regulated and reviewed under local zoning in Green County.
Green County is asking towns for input as county officials consider whether to temporarily pause new data center development while zoning rules are reviewed and possibly updated.
A letter dated April 21 from the Green County Zoning and Land Use Office to town officials across Green County says the county’s zoning code does not currently specifically address data centers, a gap officials are now preparing to study.
