Highway 69 remains open to traffic, but drivers should expect daytime delays beginning Monday, Sept. 14, as milling and paving operations start between Monticello and New Glarus.
According to the latest weekly construction update from Jim Grender, P.E., of CGC, Inc., crews are expected to begin work at Monticello and continue north toward New Glarus and Cow Path Lane on a daily basis.
That marks a change from earlier project updates, which had anticipated milling and paving would begin Sept. 14 at the south end of the job near Monroe and move northward. The latest schedule now puts the first phase of that work between Monticello and New Glarus.
The work will be done using flagging operations, meaning traffic will remain open but may be reduced to one direction at a time through active work areas. Delays can be expected throughout the working day.
Work is weather dependent and subject to adjustment.
