Highway 69 Reopening Target Holds for Friday

Highway 69 is still on track to reopen to all traffic at the end of the day Friday, Aug. 28, weather permitting and provided the remaining work is completed.

That would mark the end of the full detour that began July 13 and has sent traffic around the project using Highway 11 at Monroe, Highway 81 to Argyle, Highway 78 to Blanchardville and Highway 39 to New Glarus.

The latest weekly construction update from Jim Grender, P.E., of CGC, Inc., shows the project moving into a cleanup and finishing stage, with pipe culvert replacements now finished and paved back in with asphalt both north of Monticello and south of Wittenwyler Road.

County C/Urban Road remains closed and is expected to stay closed until late August. County F at Highway 69 also remains closed to through traffic, with no posted detour.
