Hutch + Hide began with a building, a new baby and a decision to build a life and business together in New Glarus.

When the property at 600 First St. in the heart of New Glarus came up for sale in 2015, Kelsy and Tory Hutchison had recently welcomed their first daughter. Both had retail experience, and the couple saw an opportunity to remain close to home, raise their family together and become part of the downtown business community.

They opened Hutch + Hide in April 2016. Ten years later, the couple has four children and a business that combines a carefully curated gift shop with custom cabinetry and interior work.

“Knowing that we wanted to be a part of our vibrant hometown, spend as much time together as a family, and both having previous retail backgrounds, we decided to give it a go,” Tory Hutchison said.
