Local Woman Leads Push to Make New Glarus a Hallmark Town
After nominating New Glarus for Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Towns Contest, Jessica Aasve is urging residents, businesses and visitors to help show why the village’s Swiss charm and holiday traditions belong in a Christmas movie.
Jessica Aasve did not need much time to decide which community belonged in Hallmark’s new national search for America’s merriest Christmas towns.
“As soon as I saw the contest, I immediately thought of New Glarus,” Aasve said. “Between our Swiss heritage, the Christkindli Market, beautifully decorated downtown, local businesses, and incredible sense of community, it feels like the perfect fit.”
Aasve has already submitted a nomination for New Glarus and is now encouraging residents, business owners and visitors to do the same before the contest closes Aug. 10.
Hallmark Media launched its Merriest Christmas Towns Contest as part of Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday celebration. Communities across the country may be nominated based on their warmth, community connections, holiday traditions, neighborhood charm and goodwill.
