Matterhorn Heights Development Targets Spring 2027 Start

Matterhorn Heights Development Targets Spring 2027 Start

The proposed Matterhorn Heights subdivision on the southwest side of New Glarus remains active, although Bader Development is taking additional time to work through engineering and financial questions before moving ahead with construction.

Developer Troy Bader said Tuesday that the company has reengaged its engineering team and is studying issues tied to the later phases of the development before committing to the start of Phase 1.

“Making sure that we get everything correct before we start Phase 1 is very important,” Bader said.

The development was originally proposed as a 91-lot residential subdivision on approximately 42 acres of mostly cropland at the southwest corner of the village. Plans also call for new streets, sidewalks, stormwater facilities and a public park.
