Mount Vernon Prepares for July 5 Fireworks Celebration

MOUNT VERNON, Wis. — Residents and visitors will gather at Mount Vernon Park on Sunday, July 5, for the community's annual Fourth of July celebration, culminating with a fireworks display at dusk as part of America's 250th anniversary observance.

The annual event will take place at Mount Vernon Park and Forest of Fame, located along State Highway 92 and Washington Street. Organizers say the celebration also features a community chicken barbecue on Saturday the 4th beginning at 11 a.m., with both dine-in and carryout options available.

The fireworks display is organized by the Mount Vernon Park Association and is funded through community contributions and sponsorships. Organizers are encouraging residents to support the effort through donations and by thanking local businesses that help make the annual tradition possible.
