Munchkey Apples to Open Sept. 2 for 2026 Season
The family-run orchard between New Glarus and Hollandale will open Sept. 2 with Zestar apples ready and Honeycrisp likely available, then open again on Labor Day before settling into its regular Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule.
Munchkey Apples will open for the 2026 apple season Wednesday, Sept. 2, giving New Glarus-area residents another sign that fall is just around the corner.
The family-run orchard along Highway 39 between New Glarus and Hollandale will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on opening day. Zestar apples are expected to be ready, with Honeycrisp likely available as well.
Munchkey Apples will also be open Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After that, its regular season hours will be Wednesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Owned by the Tisch family, Munchkey Apples began with 500 trees planted in 2011 and has since grown to more than 9,000 apple trees.
