Several New Glarus alumni were recently recognized for academic achievement after being named to Dean’s List or President’s List honors for the spring 2026 semester at colleges and universities across the region and beyond.

The honors include students attending Luther College, Marian University, The University of Alabama, the University of Iowa and Winona State University.

Nathan Heil, a sophomore from New Glarus, was named to the spring 2026 Dean’s List at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Luther announced June 18 that 535 students were named to the list, including 60 first-year students, 126 sophomores, 134 juniors and 215 seniors.

To qualify for the Luther College Dean’s List, students must earn a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and complete at least 12 credit hours, including 10 hours of conventional grades.
