A two-hit attack, deep pitching staff and a game-saving catch carried New Glarus past Orfordville 5-3 for the All-Star Baseball League championship, capping an 11-1 season and a grueling stretch of seven games in five days for the boys.

2026 All-Star Baseball League Champions

New Glarus’ seventh-grade boys baseball team capped an outstanding summer by defeating Orfordville 5-3 to win the seventh- and eighth-grade championship of the All-Star Baseball League.

The league includes teams from schools across four southwestern Wisconsin counties. New Glarus finished the season 11-1, including six victories during a demanding final stretch in which the team played seven games over five days.

The championship game was a battle from beginning to end. Orfordville limited New Glarus to only two hits, but the champions manufactured enough offense through small ball, timely baserunning and execution.

Maccoy Vogel and Dane Schmitz collected New Glarus’ two hits. Vogel delivered the go-ahead RBI, giving the “good guys” a lead they would not relinquish, coach Mark Miller said.
