New Glarus Burger Contest Gives Local Entries a Taste Test
Four New Glarus restaurants are competing in the 2026 Green County Best Burger Contest, and after sending one of our intrepid reporters into the field with friends to try them all, here is how each local entry stacked up in flavor, creativity and crowd appeal.
The 2026 Green County Best Burger Contest is giving burger fans another reason to make the rounds in New Glarus, where four local establishments are serving up contest-only creations as part of this year’s countywide competition.
Organized by Green County Beef Producers, the contest features 24 participating establishments across Green County, including Kleeman’s Bar & Grill, Ohana Kitchen, Ott Haus Pub & Grill and Sportsman’s Reloaded Bar & Grill in New Glarus.
In New Glarus, each restaurant has taken a different approach to the challenge. To get a firsthand sense of how the hometown entries compare, New Glarus 360 sent an intrepid reporter into the field with a few burger-loving friends to try all four. The result was not exactly a scientific survey, but it was a lively and enthusiastic taste test, complete with debate over buns, sauces, toppings and which burger best captured the spirit of the contest.
