New Glarus EMS Blood Drive Set for Saturday

Residents can donate blood Saturday at the New Glarus Area EMS station, 401 3rd St. The American Red Cross blood drive runs from 8 a.m. to noon, with donors also eligible for a $15 e-gift card during a national fall promotion.

New Glarus EMS Blood Drive Set for Saturday

New Glarus Area EMS will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at the EMS station, 401 3rd St. in New Glarus.

The Red Cross is encouraging area residents who are able to donate to participate. According to information promoting the drive, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds.

People who come to give blood between Sept. 21 and Oct. 18 are also eligible to receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice as part of a Red Cross fall donor promotion.

Donors can use the Red Cross RapidPass program to complete portions of the pre-donation process in advance. The Red Cross says using RapidPass can save donors up to 15 minutes during their visit.

Additional information about donating blood and RapidPass is available through RedCrossBlood.org. Donors can also use the Red Cross Blood Donor App or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
