A team of experienced New Glarus volunteers will help the Madison Mallards attempt to host more than 2,000 Euchre players Aug. 8, while raising money for local pickleball courts and promoting the 2027 World Euchre Championship in New Glarus.

New Glarus Euchre Team Joins World Record Bid

MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Mallards are preparing to deal Wisconsin back into the record books Aug. 8, when the baseball organization will attempt to host the world’s largest game of Euchre with help from New Glarus Cares and the World Euchre Federation.

The Mallards reached out to the New Glarus-based organizations for assistance planning the massive tournament. New Glarus Cares Treasurer Mary Siegenthaler, who also serves as tournament director of the World Euchre Championship, has been working closely with the Mallards on logistics.

Approximately 16 experienced volunteers from New Glarus are expected to travel to Madison to assist with the event. The group includes battle hardened volunteers who help operate the annual World Euchre Championship in New Glarus.
