E-bikes are no longer a novelty on Wisconsin trails, village streets or bike racks. They are quickly becoming one of the most popular ways for people to ride farther, climb hills more easily and enjoy places such as New Glarus without needing the stamina of a serious cyclist.

That growing popularity is also creating new questions in New Glarus, where village streets, sidewalks, the Sugar River State Trail, the Sugar River Spur Trail, New Glarus Woods State Park and new mountain bike trails all sit within a few miles of one another.
