MADISON, Wis. — A New Glarus Guernsey reached the top of the International Guernsey Show on Thursday at World Dairy Expo, leading a strong showing by several local exhibitors in Madison.
Donnybrook Ammo Stevie, owned by Brittany Taylor and Laylaa Schuler, was named Grand Champion of both the open and junior shows after first winning the 4-year-old class. Stevie also was named Senior Champion in both divisions. The cow is registered to New Glarus.
Schuler was the one at Stevie’s halter in the ring Thursday as the judges made their final decision, while Taylor waited anxiously in the stands. Schuler graduated from Platteville High School in 2026, while Taylor is a senior at Belmont High School.
The victory marked another step up for Stevie, who was Reserve Grand Champion of the open show and Grand Champion of the junior show at World Dairy Expo in 2025. This year, judges Chris Lang of Big Prairie, Ohio, and associate judge Kevin Stoltzfus of East Earl, Pennsylvania, placed her at the top of the entire Guernsey show.
