BASEL, Switzerland — The New Glarus Jodlerklub performed its competition song Friday night before a large audience inside Marienkirche, a historic stone church in Basel, during this weekend’s international Jodlerfest.

The group’s performance drew an enthusiastic response, according to Bobbie Bernet, who is traveling with the New Glarus delegation and sharing updates from Switzerland.

“The Jodlerklub performance was terrific, and we are all really proud of them,” Bernet said.

The echoes of the group’s folk yodel song carried through the church sanctuary “like bells,” Bernet said, before the crowd responded with prolonged applause.
