New Glarus and Monticello firefighters responded early Saturday morning to a house fire at W4896 Edelweiss Road after the residence was reportedly struck by lightning.
The initial dispatch came shortly after 2 a.m. New Glarus Engine 2 was among the responding units, while Monticello Fire issued a second alert for additional personnel as crews made their way to the scene.
After arriving, firefighters reported a confirmed fire and began an interior fire attack. Radio traffic later indicated fire had reached the attic, prompting crews to expand operations and bring additional water and personnel to the scene.
