New Glarus Music Students Perform at Pearl Harbor
Several New Glarus music students joined the 2026 Wisconsin Junior All-Stars of Music tour in Hawaii, performing at Pearl Harbor and Kapi'olani Park while spending a week learning, sightseeing and sharing music with students from across Wisconsin.
Several New Glarus School District music students spent part of their summer performing in Hawaii as members of the Wisconsin Junior All-Stars of Music, including a performance aboard the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor.
The students also performed at the Kapi'olani Park Bandstand in Honolulu during the statewide music program's 2026 tour of Oahu. The New Glarus School District recently shared photos and details from the trip, calling it an "incredible experience" for the students.
The Wisconsin Junior All-Stars of Music brings together young musicians from around the state for a combination of rehearsals, performances, travel and cultural experiences. The program includes band, choir and orchestra students and describes its participants as young musicians who have shown exceptional promise.
This year's Wisconsin tour was scheduled for July 8-14, with a two-day pre-departure camp followed by a seven-day tour of Oahu. Students worked with conductors and music educators before and during the trip while also meeting other musicians from communities across Wisconsin.
