Some New Glarus residents may not realize that one of the University of Wisconsin’s head coaches lives right here in the village.

Marek Michalicka, the first-year head coach of Wisconsin women’s tennis, has built a life in New Glarus with his wife, Vanessa, and their children, bringing an international tennis story to a small Wisconsin town known for its Swiss roots.
