FENNIMORE, Wis. — New Glarus kept its late-season charge rolling Friday night, overwhelming Fennimore 56-14 on the road for its fourth straight victory and improving to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Southwest Wisconsin Activities League.
Playing on a wet field after rain earlier in the day, the Glarner Knights wasted little time taking control. New Glarus led 14-0 after the first quarter, then continued to pile up points before halftime to build a 35-6 advantage.
The Glarner Knights’ first touchdown came after quarterback Quinn Marty helped move the offense deep into Fennimore territory, with Carson Prechel finishing the drive from 1 yard out. Later in the opening quarter, Marty connected with Brayden Schmitt for a 31-yard touchdown pass that pushed New Glarus ahead 14-0.
New Glarus kept pressing in the second quarter. Marty found Tucker Sysko for another touchdown, and the Glarner Knights added two more scores before halftime. Fennimore managed one touchdown before the break, but New Glarus still carried a commanding 35-6 lead into the locker room.
