New Glarus School Board Approves Budget Items
Board members approved budget-related items, moved transportation aid into long-term capital savings and reviewed strong senior survey results during a brief New Glarus School Board meeting that largely followed the agenda previewed ahead of time.
The New Glarus School Board approved several budget-related items Monday, July 13, including a preliminary 2026-27 budget, preliminary tax levy and the allocation of High Cost Transportation Aid to a long-term capital improvement fund.
The meeting, held in the high school library/media center, lasted about 25 minutes and closely followed the agenda packet released before the meeting. No members of the public spoke during the public comment period, according to the meeting transcript.
The most notable action was the board’s approval of allocating $237,000 in High Cost Transportation Aid to Fund 46, the district’s long-term capital improvement trust fund. District officials described the aid as unexpected revenue and said Fund 46 was a good place to hold the money as the district looks ahead to future facility needs.
