The New Glarus School Board will review an updated long-term facilities plan when it meets at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the New Glarus High School Library/Media Center, Room 183. The meeting will also be available through Zoom.

The facilities plan includes existing projects as well as additional needs recommended following the district’s 2026 facilities study. The recommendations do not necessarily represent funded or approved construction projects, but they could help shape future district planning and spending decisions.

Among the largest estimated needs are a $2.2 million upgrade to LED lighting and controls throughout most district buildings, $750,000 for updated telecommunications and data cabling, and a $1.5 million replacement of the elementary school roof.

The plan also identifies approximately $450,000 to replace elementary school unit ventilators, $450,000 to replace original galvanized water piping at the elementary school, and $300,000 to replace ventilation boxes at the middle and high school. Other recommended work includes electrical panels, generators, air-handling equipment and additional ventilation upgrades.
