New Glarus Schools Continue Free Supply Program
The New Glarus School District will continue providing school supplies to students in 2026-27, a program Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Thayer says helps reduce family costs, promotes equity and is sustained largely through donations and reused materials.
Families in the New Glarus School District will once again have one less back-to-school expense this fall as the district continues its practice of supplying many of the materials students need in the classroom.
New Glarus School Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Thayer said the district believes the program began during the 2019-20 school year and was created for several reasons, including making sure students come to school equipped to learn regardless of their families’ financial circumstances.
“It ensures that all students, regardless of financial background, have the tools they need to learn, grow and thrive in the classroom,” Thayer said.
