New Glarus High School students earned 444 college credits through the district’s dual-credit partnership with Madison College during the 2025-26 school year, producing an estimated $78,588 in tuition savings for local families.
Participation in the program has grown significantly over the past three school years. In 2023-24, 113 students earned 339 dual credits. That increased to 147 students and 441 credits in 2024-25, followed by 148 students earning 444 credits last school year.
The dual-credit program allows New Glarus High School students to earn college credit while still in high school through Madison College. According to the district, the courses give students an early start on post-secondary education while reducing future tuition costs for families. The opportunities are provided at minimal cost to the school district.
