New Glarus Woods Trail Run Returns Aug. 15
The seventh annual New Glarus Woods Trail Run will feature four race distances, a free children’s run and a Swiss-themed finish-line celebration while raising money to support the development of mountain bike trails within the state park.
Runners and walkers will take to the trails at New Glarus Woods State Park on Saturday, Aug. 15, for the seventh annual New Glarus Woods Trail Run.
Organized by the Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park, the event is part of the Savanna Trail Run Series. Proceeds will support the continued development of mountain bike trails within the park.
The event will include a free 1-kilometer children’s fun run, a 5-kilometer run and walk, an 8-kilometer race and a 16-kilometer race. Participation is limited to 250 runners, and registration is available online only.
The children’s run begins at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 16-kilometer race at 8 a.m., the 8-kilometer race at 8:20 a.m. and the 5-kilometer race at 8:35 a.m. A post-race party will begin at 9:15 a.m., with the awards ceremony and raffle scheduled for 10 a.m.
