The New Owners Plan Swiss Twist for Ott Haus Pub & Grill
A husband-and-wife team with deep hospitality roots has purchased the Ott Haus Pub & Grill in New Glarus and hopes to keep its familiar neighborhood feel while gradually adding a new name, more music, Swiss-inspired menu items and a renewed sense of gathering.
Ott Haus Pub & Grill in New Glarus has new local owners, and if all goes as planned, the familiar 2nd Street tavern will soon begin its next chapter with many of the same faces, the same Friday fish fry and a new name rooted in Swiss tradition.
Hallie Weintraub and Jake Blumer closed on the purchase of the property and business Friday, taking over one of New Glarus’ more historic downtown taverns from Amber and Dave Tierman.
Their alcohol beverage license application is expected to be considered by the New Glarus Village Board on Wednesday, July 15. The application was filed under Blumer Enterprises LLC for the premises at 406 2nd St., with Hallie Weintraub listed as a member and authorized agent.
For Weintraub and Blumer, the purchase is both a business decision and a personal one.
