Prehistoric Pets Coming to New Glarus
Free July 30 program will bring live reptiles, amphibians and other animals to the New Glarus Village Hall for an interactive look at evolution, adaptation, conservation and the living descendants of prehistoric creatures.
Families will have an opportunity to meet animals with ancient evolutionary roots when J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue brings its “Prehistoric Pets” summer reading program to New Glarus on Thursday, July 30.
The free, family-friendly presentation will begin at 10 a.m. in the New Glarus Village Hall Community Room, 319 Second St.
The interactive program will feature live reptiles, amphibians and other animals that share traits with species that lived during the age of dinosaurs. Children and adults will learn how animals have evolved and adapted to survive over millions of years.
The program will combine science, natural history and conservation with opportunities to see animals up close. Attendees will also learn about responsible pet ownership and the importance of protecting wildlife.
