Remember Me Red Run Raises $44,000
Bailey’s Run Vineyard and Winery’s annual Remember Me Red Run topped its fundraising goal, bringing in $44,000 for the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s after a day of walking, music and community support.
The Remember Me Red Run at Bailey’s Run Vineyard and Winery raised $44,000 for the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s, marking another successful year for a Mother’s Day weekend fundraiser that has become deeply personal for many families in the New Glarus area.
The annual 5K and fundraiser supports Alzheimer’s research and related work through UW, including efforts focused on early detection, prevention and improving care for patients and families affected by the disease.
For Bailey’s Run owner Janet Kuehl, the cause is personal. Kuehl has lost five family members to Alzheimer’s and said the event began after she and her husband, Todd, created a wine in memory of loved ones they had lost.
