Janet Kuehl said the annual Mother’s Day weekend fundraiser at Bailey’s Run was created to honor loved ones lost to Alzheimer’s and dementia while raising money for UW-led research and support efforts.

What began as a wine created in memory of family members has grown into one of the more heartfelt annual fundraisers in the New Glarus area.

Janet Kuehl of Bailey’s Run said the Remember Me Red Run started after she and her husband, Todd, opened the winery in 2018 and wanted to create something meaningful tied to their own family experience with Alzheimer’s and related diseases. The fundraiser, now in its eighth year, supports the UW Initiative to End Alzheimer’s and has become a Mother’s Day weekend tradition.
