Roger Kalscheur, Railroad Inspector and Devoted Grandfather, Dies at 72

Known as “Pudge,” the Mount Horeb native traveled the country as a railroad inspector, later worked as a plasterer in New Glarus and was remembered for his devotion to family, love of baseball, generosity, humor and loyalty.

Roger Kalscheur, Railroad Inspector and Devoted Grandfather, Dies at 72

Roger Kalscheur, a Mount Horeb native, worked as a railroad inspector and plasterer before settling in New Glarus. He later lived in Missouri with his wife, Lilly.

Known as “Pudge,” Kalscheur enjoyed baseball, family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, son, four grandchildren, seven sisters, three brothers and extended family.
