It would be easy for someone in New Glarus to know Steve Donovan primarily from the work he has done around town — videos for local businesses, the New Glarus Merchant Association or his documentary work. But much of what keeps Donovan busy happens well beyond the village.

From his home base in New Glarus, Steve Donovan Film & Video works with companies and organizations across Wisconsin and around the country. Donovan said his professional work has included projects for Capital One, ezCater, Anheuser-Busch, Paramount/Nickelodeon, Sartori and Sub-Zero and Wolf, among others.

And despite the company name, Donovan said the job is about considerably more than operating a camera and sitting in an editing suite.

“The shooting and editing are only part of what I do,” Donovan said. “Clients usually come to me because they have something important to communicate, but they may not know the clearest, most engaging or most visually compelling way to say it.”
