The Sugar River Mat Club will combine a silent auction, bags tournament and six-prize gun raffle Aug. 15 to raise money for uniforms, mats, camps, travel and other needs serving local wrestlers in Belleville, New Glarus and Monticello.

The Sugar River Mat Club is inviting the community to an afternoon of friendly competition and fundraising Aug. 15 as it works to keep wrestling accessible for young athletes from Belleville, New Glarus and Monticello.

The club’s fundraising effort includes a silent auction, a two-person bags tournament and a gun raffle featuring six prizes. The event is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission to the silent auction and bags tournament event is free, but attendees are asked to register online. Registration for the bags tournament costs $40 per two-person team.
