Raiders Host Delavan-Darien in Sectional Semifinal
After Thursday's sectional semifinal was postponed by weather, the Sugar River Raiders return to New Glarus tonight for a postseason showdown with Delavan-Darien, with a trip to Saturday's sectional championship on the line.
The Sugar River Raiders girls soccer team returns to action tonight in New Glarus with its season and state tournament hopes still alive.
Originally scheduled for Thursday, the WIAA sectional semifinal was postponed because of inclement weather and rescheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the Glarner Community Complex. The Raiders, the No. 2 seed in the bracket, will face No. 3 seed Delavan-Darien for the right to advance to Saturday's sectional championship match.
The winner of Friday night's contest will move on to face McFarland on their home pitch on Saturday. McFarland earned its spot in the sectional final with a 2-0 victory over Platteville on Thursday night.
