MINERAL POINT, Wis. — Friday night’s football game between the New Glarus Glarner Knights and Mineral Point Pointers has been moved up one hour because of the threat of worsening weather later in the evening.

Both the Mineral Point School District and New Glarus School District announced Thursday that the varsity game, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, will instead kick off at 6 p.m. at Ron Murphy Football Field in Mineral Point. The districts cited a high probability of inclement weather worsening later Friday evening.

The schedule change comes ahead of an important Southwest Wisconsin Activities League matchup between two teams carrying identical 3-1 overall records. New Glarus is 1-1 in conference play, while Mineral Point is 0-1. Both programs are in the Southwest Wisconsin Activities League (SWAL).
