New Glarus received a healthy dose of regional television exposure Friday as WKOW 27 brought its Wake Up Wisconsin crew to the village and spent much of the morning introducing viewers to businesses, community projects, attractions and local athletes.

The Madison television station published at least eight New Glarus-focused stories and video segments Friday, Aug. 28, along with coverage of that evening’s New Glarus-Belleville football game. Collectively, the reports presented a remarkably broad snapshot of the community to viewers throughout southern Wisconsin.

Rather than focusing on one event, WKOW showcased New Glarus as a place to visit, do business, preserve history, invest in community projects and raise young athletes. The coverage stretched from the New Glarus Hotel and New Glarus Bakery downtown to New Glarus Brewing Co. on the hilltop and the Glarner Community Complex.
