The Monroe-New Glarus Cheese Knights ran into one of the deeper teams on their schedule Tuesday, falling 121-45 to McFarland, but the final score did not tell the full story of a Senior Night filled with strong swims and personal progress.
McFarland brought roughly twice the roster size of Monroe-New Glarus, giving the Spartans an advantage in depth. The Cheese Knights answered by collecting two individual victories, multiple second and third place finishes and a long list of season- and lifetime-best performances.
The evening also gave Monroe-New Glarus a chance to honor six seniors: Lauryn Arnett, Bella Houston, Damaris Jimenez Lara, Chloe White, Emma Funk and Hadleigh Shunk. The group was recognized for its contributions to the program before the Cheese Knights turned their attention back to the pool.
