Domestic Arrest, Bicycle Crash Highlight June Police Report
New Glarus police responded to 386 calls for service in June, including a domestic disorderly conduct arrest, a crash involving a bicyclist on Highway 69, a dog attack complaint and several major community events that concluded without significant incidents.
The New Glarus Police Department responded to 386 calls for service in June, according to the department's monthly report submitted July 1 by Chief Jeff Sturdevant.
The department also reported three incarcerations, one traffic accident and several notable incidents during a month that included Polkafest, the Beer, Bacon & Cheese Festival, the opening of the new library and New Glarus High School graduation.
Police also reported 75 assists to other agencies or departments, 46 traffic and municipal citations, 49 traffic warnings, 36 parking citations and one traffic accident during the month. The department's year-to-date total reached 2,344 calls for service.
Among the notable incidents in the report was a June 29 domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of 3rd Street. Following an investigation, Joseph S. Ott, 40, of New Glarus, was arrested, transported to the Green County Jail and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
