UPDATE: A police officer was reportedly taken to the hospital to be checked out for smoke inhalation.

Fire crews from across the area responded Saturday to a fire inside an apartment at the former Flannery’s Wilhelm Club Restaurant building, 114 2nd Street in New Glarus. The building, now owned by Consortium Properties, LLC, has been converted into six or seven high-end residential units, with unrented commercial space remaining on the ground floor where the dining room was once located.

According to scanner intercepts, New Glarus Fire and EMS were first paged to the scene for smoke inside one of the apartments.
