Four New Glarus Alumni March with University of Wisconsin Band
Four New Glarus High School graduates are carrying their hometown pride onto the field as members of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band.
When New Glarus residents tune into a University of Wisconsin football game this fall, they can take pride in knowing that four of their own are helping keep one of the most celebrated college traditions alive. Trenton Hendrickson, Elena Marunde, Dylan Fritz, and Delaney Hoeper — all graduates of New Glarus High School — are current members of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band.
The UW Marching Band is a 315-member ensemble that has been thrilling Badger fans for generations. Directed by Corey Pompey since 2019, the band is best known for its high-energy performances, its signature “stop at the top” marching style, and the famous Fifth Quarter — a post-game performance that keeps the spirit alive no matter the final score. The band performs at all home football games, pep rallies, and a variety of events across campus and beyond, giving students the chance to represent UW-Madison in front of tens of thousands of fans.
