Google Maps Adds New Street View Imagery in New Glarus for First Time in Over a Decade
New Google Maps Street View imagery captured portions of New Glarus in July 2025, updating several local roads for the first time since 2013 while much of the village’s online appearance remains more than a decade out of date.
In July 2025, new imagery was added to Google Maps for New Glarus, marking the first update to most local Street View scenes in more than 12 years. Google’s 360-degree camera vehicle entered the village from the east, beginning on 6th Avenue near Roy’s Market, before turning west along Highway 39. The refreshed imagery continues past downtown and out just past Bailey’s Run Vineyard & Winery—capturing the winery on Google Maps for the very first time. The last time this stretch was updated was back in 2013.
Additional coverage now appears on 2nd Street, starting at 6th Avenue/Highway 39 and running north until roughly 900 feet past the Shooting Park. County Highway W heading east toward Dayton has also received new images. Highway 69, which runs north–south through the community, was last updated in August 2023.
According to Google Maps’ Street View schedule, the service is set to visit Green County, Wisconsin between March 2025 and December 2025. However, the schedule does not indicate where in the county the Street View vehicle will go or how much of the area will be photographed.
